Pawling Rotary to Honor Ann Godesky at 8th Annual Golf Outing

Ann Godesky will be honored at Pawling Rotary’s 8th Annual Golf Outing and Dinner on Mary 23rd at the Quaker Hill Country Club, for her outstanding service to the Pawling Community, and most particularly to Pawling’s Youngsters. Ann, a former Art teacher and Chair of the Fine and Practical Arts Department at Pawling High School, also served as Athletic Director from 2002-2004 and was a consultant to the Northeast Regional Center for Drug-Free Schools and Communities from 1988-1996. She also led the Peer Leadership program at the High School until her retirement.

In 2016, Ann was the recipient of the New York State Senate Women of Distinction Award. She also received the Voices of Pawing Award in 2011 for her achievements in the Arts and Education. Additionally, Ann has been the recipient of the Dutchess County Youth Board Award for Service to the Youth of Dutchess County, and A Pawling Treasure Award in 2002 and 2003, by the Pawling Chamber of Commerce. Further, she was a finalist for the New York State Teacher of the Year in 1998. She is also a recipient of the Dutchess County Executive’s Professional Teacher Award. She was recognized by the Northeast Regional Center for Drug Free Schools and Communities for “Outstanding Dedication to Promoting Wellness Among Youth in the Northeast.”

Proceeds from the Annual Golf Outing fund the many educational programs bolstered by Rotary that benefit Pawling’s youth, including assistance for the Interact Club of Pawling, funding of five full scholarships to R.Y.L.A (Rotary Youth) Leadership Conference, the purchase and distribution of new Dictionaries to both public and private school third grade students, support of The Smith-Johnson Scout Cabin, as well as sponsoring The Roger Smith-Pawling Rotary College Scholarship, awarded annually to two Pawing High School Seniors.
