WANTED PEEKSKILL MAN ARRESTED FOR FELONY AGGRAVATED UNLICENSED OPERATION
Putnam County Sheriff Robert L. Langley Jr. reports the arrest of a Peekskill man for Aggravated Unlicensed Operation in the First Degree, a Traffic Felony, and for active warrants. On April 4, 2019, at approximately 12:08 p.m., Deputy Kevin Radovich observed a vehicle commit traffic violations on Oscawana Lake Road, in the Town of Putnam Valley. Deputy Radovich initiated a traffic stop of the vehicle. A computer check revealed that the vehicle’s driver, Matthew Perez, age 29, of Peekskill, had a suspended New York State Driver’s License. Mr. Perez’s license was suspended 25 times on 10 separate court dates. It was also revealed that Mr. Perez had two active warrants out of the Town of Yorktown Police Department. The Town of Yorktown Police Department was contacted and confirmed Mr. Perez’s active warrants. Mr. Perez was placed under arrest and transported to the Putnam County Correctional Facility for arrest processing. Mr. Perez was processed and charged with Aggravated Unlicensed Operation in the First Degree-Driving with ten or more suspensions on ten separate dates (Felony). Mr. Perez was arraigned by the Honorable Justice Louis DiCarlo of the Town of Putnam Valley Justice Court. Justice DiCarlo released Mr. Perez on his own recognizance, pending a future court date. Deputy Radovich then transported Mr. Perez to a location in Yorktown, where Mr. Perez was turned over to the Town of Yorktown Police Department, for enforcement of Mr. Perez’s active warrants.
