Poughkeepsie man arrested on felony drug charges

Poughkeepsie, New York – On April 5, 2019, the New York State Police Troop K Community Narcotics Enforcement Team (CNET), arrested William D. DeGaetano, age 36, of Poughkeepsie, for Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the 3rd degree with Intent to Sell, and Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the 3rd degree, both class B felonies.

A long-term investigation by the Troop K Community Narcotics Enforcement Team culminated in the arrest of William DeGaetano, also known as “Billy.”  Subsequent to the execution of a search warrant issued by the town of Poughkeepsie Court, DeGaetano was found to possess approximately 175.5 grams of cocaine, and 352 grams of controlled stimulants in pill form.

DeGaetano was arraigned before the town of Poughkeepsie Court, and was remanded by the Honorable Judge Sullivan to the Dutchess County Jail without bail.  DeGaetano is next scheduled to appear before the Court on April 10, 2019, at 2:00 p.m.
