SHERIFF’S OFFICE INVESTIGATING DISCOVERY OF SKELETAL REMAINS
Columbia County Sheriff David P. Bartlett reports that his office is investigating the discovery of skeletal remains.
On April 7, 2019, at approximately 1:00 pm, the Sheriff’s Office received a call from an individual who was doing excavation work on private property in the Town of Stuyvesant. The caller reported that he discovered what he believed to be skeletal remains while doing excavation work on the property, which is located off of State Route 9J in Stuyvesant. Upon Sheriff’s Office deputies and investigators arriving on the scene, it was confirmed that skeletal remains were in fact discovered and an investigation has been initiated.
The Sheriff’s Office is actively investigating this discovery; however, the investigation is in its infancy and no additional details are available at this time.
