Great food from some of the best chefs in Putnam County and the surrounding area will be just part of the fun as the Patterson Rotary Club hosts Men Who Cook on Saturday, April 25, 2015.

The event raises funds for Patterson Rotary, which is celebrating its 27th year of supporting the local community and organizations. This year the Rotary Club will be honoring The Patterson Fire Department for their decades of ‘Service Above Self’ which is Rotary International’s motto.

“Every year we do a lot of great things at the Patterson Rotary, and it is our fundraisers that make this possible,” says President John Flanagan. “We are able to give away over $25,000 a year to local charities and are hoping to do a bit more this year. A lot of that depends on the support we get so we invite everyone to attend this great event.”

The “Men Who Cook” evening begins with a selection of appetizers, entree specialties, salads and side dishes – and if guests have room for dessert, there will be pies, cakes, cookies and ice cream. The food is only part of the fun. Sports teams and businesses have donated prizes for the evening’s raffles and live auction, including gift baskets of all kinds, home electronics and
more.

This year the event will have over 39 chef stations that will feature many area restaurants as well as cooking enthusiasts. “After 18 years, we really have this event perfected. You will come hungry and leave with a full belly, some great memories, and you’ll be supporting some great local causes,” adds board member, Bill Flash.
