Obituary, Stephen Joseph Marshall

Stephen Joseph Marshall, 47, a resident of Pleasant Valley, NY, formerly of Germantown, NY, passed away on Saturday, March 23, 2019, at Columbia- Presbyterian Hospital in New York, NY. Steve worked as a licensed practical nurse at The Grand Rehabilitation and Nursing at Pawling in Pawling, NY.

Born on August 14, 1971, in Poughkeepsie, NY, he was the son of the late Gerald and Diane (Brill) Marshall. Steve proudly served in the United States Air Force during Desert Storm and patriotically loved his country.

Steve was proud of being a nurse and was kind and compassionate in the care he gave to his patients. An avid sports and music enthusiast, he loved “his” New York Yankees and Dallas Cowboys. At a young age, Steve taught himself to play the guitar and from there his passion for music grew. He loved 80’s rock musicians including Van Halen and Heart who were among his favorites. Steve collected movies and Disney memorabilia, especially anything Mickey. His pride and joy was his Mustang that he named “Ruby.” He will always be a big brother and uncle, known as “Uncle Pet” to his nieces and nephew, and he will be deeply missed by all.

Steve is survived by his twin sisters, Stacy Marshall of Dover Plains, NY and Tracy Wilcox of Wassaic, NY and his brother-in-law, Art Wilcox. He is also survived by the loves of his life, two nieces, Madison (Magoo) Goldson of Dover Plains and Isabella Wilcox of Wassaic, and a nephew, Adam Koskowski of Long Island, NY. He also leaves behind his two fur baby kittens, Smokey and Chew.

The family would like to thank Vassar Brothers Medical Center in Poughkeepsie, NY and Columbia-Presbyterian Hospital for the compassionate care they gave to Steve.
