Rachel A. Morrissey, of New York City, NY, formerly Putnam Lake, NY, died on Tuesday, February 26, 2019, at her home. She was 40 years old.
Born on June 11, 1978 in Englewood, NJ, daughter of Margaret (Revellino) Morrissey of Putnam Lake and the late Joseph Morrissey. Rachel was a 1997 graduate of Brewster High School and continued her education at Syracuse University receiving her bachelor’s degree and her law degree.
Since passing her bar exams in 2005 she has been an attorney in NYC, most recently with Akerman LLP. She was a sports enthusiast and loved playing softball both in high school and college. Rachel was a member of the VFW Post 9257 Auxiliary.
Rachel is not only survived by her mother, Margaret, but also her brother Joseph Morrissey of Holmes, NY, her aunts; Maria Milyko and Maureen Galvin, her uncle and aunt Dominick & Janice Revellino, her great uncle and aunt Jack & Frances Nash and many cousins.
Visitation will be held on Saturday March 9, 2019 at Beecher Funeral Home, 1 Putnam Avenue, Brewster, NY from 1pm-5pm. A private cremation will follow.
