Ruth L. Rossi, of Holmes, NY, died peacefully at Putnam Nursing and Rehabilitation Center on Wednesday, February 27, 2019. She was 88 years old.
Born on February 10, 1931, in the Bronx, NY, daughter to the late Harry and Louise (Buffington) Sorenson. Ruth graduated from Pearl River High School and continued her education at the Conservatory of Music in Purchase, NY for the piano.
On June 14, 1948, she married the love of her life Anthony N. Rossi in Maryland. On September 25, 2004, Anthony predeceased his wife.
Mrs. Rossi was a stenographer with Atlantic Metals in Yonkers, NY. Ruth was also a private piano teacher throughout the years. She had attended the Holmes United Methodist Church, Holmes, NY. Her greatest passions in life were her love of the piano, her family and animals.
Ruth is survived by her loving children; Frederick R. Rossi of Bear Mt., NY, Maria Maston and her husband Phillip of Holmes, NY, Anthony R. Rossi of Beacon, NY, Peter Rossi and his wife Antoinette of Brewster, NY, Paul Rossi of Brewster, NY; her 9 grandchildren; Peter, Christopher, Dina, Laura, Dan, Christie, Keith, Louis and Sara and her 7 great-grandchildren; Kara, Cristina, Timmy, Joey, Anthony, Dakota and Gianna. She was predeceased by her brother Harry.
A funeral service will be held on Monday, March 4, 2019, at 11 am at the Holmes United Methodist Church, Holmes, NY. Interment will follow at St. Lawrence O’Toole Cemetery, Brewster, NY.
