Pleasant Valley, New York – On February 11, 2019, the New York State Police from the Poughkeepsie barracks arrested an eighteen-year-old for Possession of a Forged Instrument, a class C felony, and Petit Larceny, a class A misdemeanor.

In November of 2018, Troopers responded to a report of a fraudulent purchase using counterfeit money.  The victim attempted to sell an Apple Watch to a subject who completed the transaction with counterfeit $100 and $20 U.S. currency bills.  Investigation utilizing only a possible first name of the subject led to the identification, and arrest of the eighteen-year-old.

The suspect was arraigned before the town of Pleasant Valley Court, and remanded by the Honorable Judge Sears to the Dutchess County Jail in lieu of $500.00 cash bail or $1,000.00 bond.  The next scheduled appearance was set for February 26, 2019, at 5:30 p.m.
