Obituary, Edley Pearlman Scott Jr. and Beverly Jean Scott

Edley Pearlman Scott Jr. (89) and Beverly Jean Scott (82) died peacefully two weeks apart in their Longmont home.

Bev was born June 9, 1936, in Norfork, NY and died January 20, 2019. Ed was born April 19, 1929, in Washington, NY and died February 2, 2019. Ed and Bev both attended Dover Plains High School in New York. Ed proudly served in the Navy from 1948-1952, and then married Bev on July 23, 1955, in Dover Plains.

They moved to Niwot, Colorado in 1965 to create a home and raise their family, until they both retired from IBM. In 1987 they moved south to Snowflake, Arizona and enjoyed their retirement there until 2006 when they moved back to Colorado to be closer to the family.

Ed made beautiful ceramics and jewelry, golfed frequently, and loved to grow vegetables and make wine.

Bev was very close to her large family and was always a great host to her many good friends. She also enjoyed playing golf and was a huge Rockies and Bronco fan.

Both Ed and Bev traveled often to a beach or the mountains with friends or family and put many happy miles on their RV.

Ed and Bev will be remembered by all who knew them as a fun and caring couple that proved love is to the end for each other and their family and friends.

They are survived by their three children Kevin (Cindy) Scott of Estes Park, CO, Barbara Scott of Bend, OR, and Lisa Scott of Greeley, CO. Bev also leaves two dear sisters. Joan Cutler of Wappenger Falls, NY and Rose Annis of Wilmington, NC. Bev and Ed will be dearly missed by their three grandchildren Brian (Angela) Scott of Windsor, CO, Eric (Jennifer) Scott of Estes Park, CO, and Lily (David) Trager of New York, NY. They also leave ten great-grandchildren: Jayson, Owen, Aidyn, Evin, Abigayle, Oscar, Logan, Tyler, Dylan and Quinn.

Both Ed and Bev were preceded in death by their parents, Bev’s siblings Robert, Alice, David, and Reba, and Ed’s siblings John, Eleanor, William, Theresa, Virginia, Lyda, Elizabeth, Francis, Robert, and Joseph. In lieu of flowers, a memorial contribution in their daughter Lisa’s name would make them smile.
