Tuesday Afternoon Book Club at Pawling Library

Tuesday Afternoon Book Club at Pawling Library

By Donald Partelow

Through a whirlwind of snow three people braved the elements to attend our January meeting. One Thousand White Women: The Journals of May Dodd, by Jim Fergus was the novel that was discussed and liked by all. The Afternoon Book Club meets every fourth Tuesday of each month and has been doing so for over a decade. Ordinarily, there are a dozen or more people surrounding two conjoined tables in our library during a book discussion. It is an hour of good conversations and laughter. The novel the club will be reading next is Leaving Time, by Jodi Picoult. A discussion about the book will take place on Tuesday, February 26 at 4:00 pm. At this gathering members will be deciding what books they wish to be reading for the next couple of months. Those interested in joining the book club are encouraged to bring along some book titles with descriptions to the group. Hopefully, the weather will behave itself, but should it not, we’ll pick another day to have a good chat.
