Obituary, Kenneth D. Odell

Clinton Corners – Kenneth D. Odell, 88, a longtime Clinton Corners resident, passed away on Tuesday, January 15, 2019 at the Elizabethtown Community Hospital in Elizabethtown, NY.

Born on July 27th, 1930, in New York City, NY, he was the son of the late Albert and Svea (Tiren) Odell. Kenneth married Annemarie Verrier on January 31, 1954, at St. James the Apostle Church in Carmel, NY. Annemarie predeceased him on June 15, 2003.

He served in the United States Air Force from 1949 to 1952.

For 30 years, Ken served as New York State Trooper- attaining the rank of Staff Inspector. Following his retirement from law enforcement in 1982, he worked for Central Hudson from 1992-2002.

Kenneth was a member of Association of Former New York State Troopers.

He is survived by his children; Eileen Odell of The Villages, FL, Nancy & (Jim) Guarino of The Villages, FL, Kenneth J. Odell of Saranac Lake, NY, and John D. (Rebecca) Odell of Keene Valley, NY; his grandchildren, James M. Guarino, Katheryn Odell, Patrick Odell, and Ryan Odell; his great-grandchildren, Jude and Jade Guarino; in addition to extended family and friends.

Ken is predeceased by his siblings, Vivian Grehan, and Albert Odell.

Friends may call at 91 E. Market St., Rhinebeck on Friday, January 18th, 2019 from 11 AM to 1 PM. Interment will follow at St. Joseph’s Cemetery in Rhinecliff, NY.
