Obituary, Timothy Joseph Kelly, Jr.

Timothy Joseph Kelly, Jr, a long-time resident of Pawling, NY, passed away Sunday, January 6, 2019 at Saint John Paul II Center, Danbury, CT at the age of 90.

Born in Yonkers, NY on November 13, 1928, he was one of two sons born to Timothy J. Kelly and Claire (Schroder) Kelly.

Tim studied art at the New York Phoenix School of Design in NYC and worked as a commercial artist from 1952-53.
Tim married the love of his life, Jeanne Indermill, on July 25, 1953, in St. John’s Church in Pawling, NY. He then served in the US Army from 1953-55. Upon his discharge, Tim joined IBM; he was an expert with computers and traveled throughout America, Canada, and Mexico training employees of IBM.

Tim was a craftsman who built beautiful furniture for his home and was a talented artist. He loved cars, especially his bright blue 1932 Ford Coupe Street Rod that he built in 1993. He always loved farms, so he made sure his kids had ponies, horses, chickens and dogs. Tim had a beautiful quarter horse named Kirk, which only he could ride. He built all the barns himself.
He loved baseball and was an original season ticket holder for the Hudson Valley Renegades, and a lifetime member of the Pawling Fire Department.

Tim was a devoted and loving husband, father, and grandfather; his family was his greatest joy in life.

He is survived by his wife, Jeanne; three sons, Timothy of Lutz, FL, Daniel and his wife, Michele, of Wingdale, NY, and Matthew of Pawling; his daughter, Lisa Kelly Liffland and her husband, Joseph, of Pawling; four grandchildren, Sarah Liffland Daley, Joseph Liffland, Cybil McQuide, and Mariah Kelly; five great-grandchildren, Olivia Liffland, Joseph Liffland, Hayden Daley, Brooke Daley, and Hudson McQuide; and many friends.

He is predeceased by his brother, Paul, who passed away in 2013.

Family and friends may pay their respects Friday, January 11th from 4-7 PM at the Horn & Thomes, Inc. Funeral Home, 83 East Main Street, Pawling, NY. A brief service will be conducted at 4 PM and the Pawling Fire Dept will conduct a service at 6:30 PM. Burial is private.

In lieu of flowers, it is requested that donations in memory of Tim be made to the Pawling Fire Department, PO Box 132, Pawling, NY 12564.
