Newburgh man arrested for felony DWI following erratic vehicle complaint

Wappingers Falls, New York – On April 3, 2015, New York State Police from the Wappinger barracks arrested Camerino Baca Mendoza, 43 years old, of Newburgh, New York, for Driving While Intoxicated, a Felony, and Aggravated Unlicensed Operation 1st Degree, a Class E Felony.

The arrest transpired after Troopers were dispatched by Dutchess County 911 to search for an erratically operated vehicle last seen traveling on Route 9D in the Village of Wappingers Falls.

Troopers located the suspect vehicle traveling on Main Street and observed it leave the roadway before driving onto the sidewalk.

Officers stopped the vehicle and interviewed the driver who was identified as Baca Mendoza. Baca Mendoza displayed clues that indicated that he was intoxicated at the time of the stop.

After Troopers discovered that Baca Mendoza’s driving privileges were revoked in New York State due to a 2014 DWI related conviction, he was charged with 1st Degree Aggravated Unlicensed Operation and for failing to utilize a court ordered ignition interlock device.

Baca Mendoza was further charged with reckless driving and issued traffic tickets ordering him to appear before the Village of Wappingers Falls Court on April 9, 2015 at 6:00 p.m.
