COLUMBIA SHERIFF’S OFFICE ARREST NASSAU MAN FOR BURGLARY

 

 

Sheriff David P. Bartlett reports the arrest of 25-year-old William Morehouse of State Route 203 Nassau, New York for Burglary.

Deputy Sheriff Jason Garvey was dispatched to a report of a burglary that occurred at a residence on White Mills Road in the Town of Chatham on Monday, December 24th, 2018. The victim reported to Deputy Garvey that several items were stolen from the residence to include electronics, prescription medication and jewelry.

Investigators Patrick Logue and Ian Boehme were assigned to continue the investigation and developed Mr. Morehouse as a suspect through the use of the victim’s home video surveillance system. The investigators were able to locate Morehouse in the Schodack area and later interviewed him at the Sheriff’s Office Valatie satellite station. During the course of the interview Morehouse made admissions as to his involvement in the burglary.

Morehouse was arrested at 11:25pm Thursday December 27th and charged with the class C-Felony of Burglary 2nd degree, as well as Petit Larceny, a class A-Misdemeanor. He was arraigned in the Chatham Town Court by the Honorable Judge Borgia-Forster and remanded to the Columbia County jail without bail. He will return to court at a later date. District Attorney Paul Czajka’s Office assisted with the investigation.
