Pair arrested for possession of heroin subsequent to a traffic stop.

PRESS RELEASE

Woodbury, NY – On December 18, 2018, at approximately 7:00 p.m., State Police stopped a vehicle on I-87, in the town of Woodbury for vehicle and traffic violation.  During the interviewing of the driver Elton Cromedy, age 58, of, Poughkeepsie, NY, for the vehicle and traffic violation probable cause to search the vehicle and its occupants was established. During the subsequent search of driver and the passenger, Willie H. Cutler, age 59, of Poughkeepsie, NY, approximately 57 grams of Heroin and a glass smoking containing crack-cocaine residue was located. Both subjects were taken into custody, transported and processed at SP Newburgh, where they were subsequently charged with:

  • Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the 3rd degree; a Class B Felony (with intent to sell)
  • Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the 4th degree; a Class C Felony (narcotic drug)
  • Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the 7th degree; a Class A Misdemeanor
  • Vehicle and Traffic Violations; (driver only)

Both subjects are scheduled to be arraigned in the Town of Woodbury Court.  No bail information or return court date available at this time.
