Cold Case Tuesday: State Police continue to investigate the 1988 murder of a Sullivan County man.

State Police in Liberty continue to investigate the homicide of James Neailis of Monticello, NY.

Neailis, 24, was last seen on July 31, 1988, at the Down Under Bar in Monticello, NY.

His remains were found on August 16, 1988. His homicide is believed to be drug-related, and his remains were found shortly after a long-term narcotics investigation.

Neailis was a lifelong resident of the village of Monticello and his last known place of employment was the Arc of Sunshine Car Wash.

State Police continue to follow all leads and have extensively interviewed neighbors, co-workers, friends, family and community members. Leads have taken the investigation throughout New York State.
