DEPUTY SHERIFF’S INVESTIGATE SERIOUS ACCIDENT IN CLAVERACK
Columbia County Sheriff David P. Bartlett reports that on December 14, 2018, at approximately 7:41 am, Deputy Sheriff’s were dispatched by Columbia County 911 to a two-vehicle automobile accident with serious personal injury that had occurred on State Route 23in the Town of Claverack.
Deputy Sheriff’s found that a 1996 Buick operated by 17-year-old Jessica Spencer of Copake who was attempting to turn around pulled into the path of a 2011 Ford operated by Amanda Baird of Hillsdale NY, who was traveling westbound on State Route 23. The collision caused the Spencer vehicle to leave the highway rolling over. Spencer had to be extricated from the vehicle by the Craryville Fire Department with the Jaws of Life. No other passengers were in either vehicle.
