Two men arrested for home invasion in Greenport

Greenport, New York – On December 8, 2018, the New York State Police from the Livingston barracks arrested Clarence Scott, age 52, of Philmont, NY, and Chad M. Scott, age 24, of Copake, NY, for Burglary in the 1st degree, a class B felony.

On December 8, 2018, at approximately 4:45 p.m., Troopers were dispatched by Columbia County 911 to a residence on State Route 9G in the town of Greenport for an altercation, and report of menacing with a handgun.  Both Troopers and Bureau of Criminal Investigation Investigators from Livingston responded.  An investigation revealed that Clarence Scott and Chad Scott forcibly entered a residence, and assaulted a male victim.  The perpetrators were known to the victim.

Clarence and Chad Scott were arraigned before the town of Claverack Court, and remanded to the Columbia County Jail without bail.  Both are scheduled to appear before the town of Greenport Court on December 12, 2018, at 3:30 p.m.
