Obituary, Theodore “Ted” Thomas Howley Jr.

Queensbury – Theodore “Ted” Thomas Howley Jr., 71, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, December 4, 2018, at his home in Queensbury.

Born on December 16, 1946, in Poughkeepsie, NY, he was the son of the late Theodore Howley Sr. and Katrina (Osterhoudt) Howley.

For 20 years Ted worked for Dutchess County as a Deputy Sherriff/Correction Officer, retiring in 1993.

On March 17, 1990, Ted married Della Culver at the Hyde Park Methodist Church in Hyde Park, NY.

Ted enjoyed collecting trains, star gazing but especially loved spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was a member of the Glens Falls Train Club, PT Cruiser Club, Astronomy Club and Knights of Columbus in Amenia, NY.

In addition to his parents, Ted was predeceased by his brother, Christopher T. Howley.

Left to cherish his memory include his wife of 28 years, Della; his children, Kelly Lynn Thomas, Theodore Howley III, Dennis Howley, Timothy Howley, Kim (Carl) Remsburger, Krista (Keith) Waldron, David (Pricilla) Remsburger, Dennis (Juliet) Remsburger and Kelly Jean (Jeff) Remsburger; his siblings, Bonnie (Bruce) Howley, Marcie Mondello, John (Claudia) Howley and Henry Howley; 16 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Friends may call from 2 to 4pm on Saturday, December 15, 2018, at 136 Main Street, South Glens Falls, NY 12803.

A Memorial Service will be conducted following the calling hours at the funeral home.

Burial will be private and at the convenience of the family.

Memorial donations in Ted’s memory can be made to High Peaks Hospice, Inc. Warren Co., 79 Glenwood Ave, Queensbury, NY 12804 or to Bay Ridge Rescue Squad, 1190 Ridge Road, Queensbury, NY 12804.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to High Peaks Hospice especially to Vickie for her compassion and care. They would also like to thank the Bay Ridge Rescue Squad for being there for Ted when he needed them.
