Kent – Gary Robert Decker, 74, of Kent, CT, husband of Darlene (Eastwood) Decker, died unexpectedly Friday, April 3, 2015. Gary was born in Sharon, CT on December 12, 1940 to the late Clarence and Ethel Decker.
Gary grew up in Sharon. He worked at Amenia Sand and Gravel and Maxon Mills. He was also the foreman for the Town of Kent. He retired in 2010. He spent all of his time with his dog companion, Tippy. Gary was a loving husband, father, brother and grandparent.
In addition to his wife, Gary is survived by his children, Suzanne Hay and husband Barry, of Pine Plains, N.Y., Jerry Decker and wife Michelle, of Kent, CT, Andrew Decker, of Danbury, CT and Gary Decker, Jr., of New Berlin, N.Y.; his grandchildren, Gary Robert Decker III, Ashley Hay, Zachary Decker, Sara Decker, Katie Decker and Payton Decker; and his great-granddaughter, Julia Decker. Gary is also survived by his sisters, Phyllis Miller, Katherine Barney and Gail Hart. Gary is pre-deceased by his brothers, Bud Decker, Ronald Decker and Donald Decker.
