Verbank – Thomas J. Edgeworth, 78, of Verbank, NY, passed away on Thursday, April 2, 2015 at his residence surrounded by his loving family. Born in Sharon,Ct. on September 28, 1936, he was the son of the late Henry and Margaret Mulcahy Edgeworth. On July 30, 1977 at St. John’s Church in Beacon, Tom married Marion Morris. Mrs. Edgeworth predeceased him on August 13, 2011. Tom was employed as a therapy aide at Wassaic State Hospital for over 20 years and retired in 1991. Mr. Edgeworth served his country with the U.S. Army. He enjoyed hunting and fishing, playing lotto, watching Marist College Women’s Basketball, mowing the lawn and spending time with his grandchildren. He also loved to take trips to the Verbank Deli, playing with his dogs and collecting bird houses and feeding the birds.

Tom is survived by his 2 daughters; Megan Edgeworth and companion Boomer Labombard and Bethann Edgeworth; his 3 grandchildren, Declan Varas, Aidyn Berg and Piper Edgeworth; son-in-law, Nicholas Yobak; his sister, Josie Simoncelli and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to his wife, he was predeceased by his daughter Erin Edgeworth and his son TJ Edgeworth; and his brothers and sisters, Mary Yeoman, Margaret Bates, Shirley Dennis, Bridget Waldron, Henry Edgeworth, Albert Edgeworth, Patrick Edgeworth and David Edgeworth.

Visitation will be Tuesday, April 7 from 2-4 and 7-9pm at 3270 Franklin Ave., Millbrook. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Wednesday, April 8 at 11am from St. Joseph’s Church, North Ave., Millbrook. Interment will follow in St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Millbrook. Memorial donations may be made to Millbrook High School Sports Foundation.
