Susan Jean Spencer passed away on Nov. 22, 2018, at the age of 64 surrounded by her loving family. Her death was sudden and unexpected.
Susan was born on Nov. 17, 1954, as the first child of Roberta (Wyman) and Robert William Germeroth in Flushing, N.Y. She taught science at The Kildonan School in Amenia, N.Y., from 1980-1996. Susan received her RN degree from the New Hampshire Community Technical College in Claremont in 2007 and worked in the field of nursing, including hospice care, prior to her retirement. She enjoyed working at Prospect Woodward until moving to her new home in Plainfield. Caring for others was important to her and was the reason she became an organ donor.
On Jan. 4, 2016, Susan and Winston Francis Spencer Jr. were happily joined in marriage. They were in the process of renovating their home in Plainfield when Susan was so suddenly taken.
In addition to her loving husband, Susan is survived by her two children, Megan (Hill) Wright of Hopewell Junction, N.Y., and Justin Hill of New York City, N.Y.; her mother, Roberta Jean Wingerson of Nelson; her granddaughters, Annabelle and Caroline Wright of Hopewell Junction; her sister, Phyllis Gail Marinoff and husband, Keith, of Keene; her brother, Robert William Germeroth Jr. and wife, Beth, of Nelson; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Susan was predeceased by her father, Robert William Germeroth.

A celebration of life for family and friends will be held in her beloved greenhouse in Plainfield. Information will be posted to the website below.
