Traffic Stop Leads to Drug Charges for Two Greene County Residents

On November 26, 2018, the New York State Police at Catskill arrested JOSHUA WEISINGER, age 36, of Acra, NY and MEAGAN VANDUNK, age 35, of Cairo, NY for Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the Second Degree (a Class A-II Felony), Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the Third Degree (a class B Felony), Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the Seventh Degree (a class A Misdemeanor) and Unlawful Possession of Marihuana (a Violation).

The arrests were the result of a traffic stop on State Route 32 in the Town of Catskill. After being stopped for a vehicle and traffic violation, WEISINGER and VANDUNK were found to be in possession of approximately 500 decks of heroin, 25 grams of cocaine, a small amount of Suboxone and a small amount of marihuana.

WEISINGER and VANDUNK were arraigned before Town of Catskill Justice William Wooton and were remanded to the Greene Co Jail without bail. Further investigation into this matter by State Police, the Greene County District Attorney’s Office, the Cairo Police Department and the Greene County Sheriff’s Office culminated in the execution of a search warrant at WEISINGER’s residence which resulted in the recovery of an additional quantity of Amphetamines and two handguns.
