Poughkeepsie man arrested for murder

Wappinger, New York – On November 16, 2018, the New York State Police from the Wappinger barracks arrested Timothy Alexander, age 32, of Poughkeepsie, New York, for Murder in the Second Degree, a class A-1 felony.On Thursday, November 15, 2018 at approximately 11:00pm, State Police units along with emergency medical services, responded to a reported stabbing at a home in the town of Wappinger in the vicinity of All Angels Hill Road.
Responding units rendered first aid and CPR. However, the victim, 34-year-old Terrie DeGelormo, was pronounced deceased at the scene as a result of injuries sustained from the assault. An unknown assailant fled the scene prior to the arrival police. The ensuing investigation led to the arrest of her ex-husband Timothy Alexander.
Captain John Ryan stated, “This was a heartbreaking tragedy, where a young mother lost her life, due to domestic violence.”
