Pine Plains, New York – On November 8, 2018, the New York State Police from the Rhinebeck barracks arrested William H. Smith III, age 55, of Pine Plains, for Criminal Mischief in the 2nd degree, a class D felony.

On October 24, 2018, Troopers were dispatched to Church Street in the town of Pine Plains for a report of criminal mischief.  The victim told Troopers that during a road rage incident an unknown male punched his vehicle, which was later found to have caused over $1,500 in damages.  An investigation identified the suspect as Smith, who was subsequently arrested.

Smith was arraigned before the town of Pine Plains Court, and released on his own recognizance.  Smith is next scheduled to appear before the Court on December 5, 2018, at 4:00 p.m.
