Bronx man arrested trying to remove funds from a bank account with false identification

PRESS RELEASE
Wappinger, New York – On November 1, 2018, the New York State Police from the Wappinger barracks arrested David L. Bobbitt, age 36, of Bronx, New York, for Possession of a Forged Instrument in the 2nd degree, a class D felony, Criminal Impersonation in the 2nd degree, Criminal Mischief in the 4th degree, and Obstruction of Governmental Administration, all class A misdemeanors.

On November, 1, 2018, at approximately 11:55 a.m., Troopers responded to Chase Bank on Route 9 in the town of Wappinger for a report of a male attempting to cash checks utilizing several fake identification cards.  Investigation found Bobbitt attempted to use fraudulent identification to withdraw funds from an account.  While Bobbitt was being processed at SP Wappinger he intentionally damaged the interior wall of the barracks.

Bobbitt was arraigned before the town of Wappinger Court, and remanded to the Dutchess County Jail in lieu of $30,000 cash bail or $60,000 bond.  Bobbitt is next scheduled to appear before the Court on November 28, 2018, at 5:30 p.m.
