Poughkeepsie man arrested following the execution of a search warrant

PRESS RELEASE
Poughkeepsie, New York – On 11/7/2018, the New York State Police Troop K Community Narcotics Enforcement Team along with New York State Special Operations Response Team, Troop K Police BCI, Troop K uniform members and the City of Poughkeepsie Police Department’s Neighborhood Recovery Unit, arrested Trequon Dancy, age 23, of Poughkeepsie, NY for Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 3rd degree, a class B felony.

This arrest was the result of a month-long narcotics investigation, and the subsequent execution of a search warrant Mr. Dancy’s residence of 16 Gray Street in Poughkeepsie.  The search warrant resulted in the seizure of heroin, and approximately $5,000.00 in U.S. Currency.  Mr. Dancy had recently pled guilty to federal racketeering charges, and was currently awaiting sentencing at the time of his arrest.

Mr. Dancy was arraigned before the City of Poughkeepsie Court, and remanded to the Dutchess County Jail without bail.  Mr. Dancy is scheduled to next appear before the Court on November 9, 2018, at 9:00 a.m.
