Campaign Sign Theft, Karen Smythe’s Response

On Wednesday, October 31st campaign signs were taken by a paid government staffer of, Sue Serino at their campaign headquarters in Wappingers. The signs were from her opponent  Karen Smythe and other democratic candidates.

The above picture was taken at 1289 Route 9 Wappingers Falls, NY 12590, known as “Corporate Park,” which is a well known and busy shopping area, with numerous food and businesses. The removal of signs has been ongoing throughout this race with hundreds going missing, and this shows Serino’s campaign was the one of the sources of this, even walking out the front door as though it was routine (again in a busy shopping place). Also, no attempt to return the signs whatsoever.

Karen Smythe said, “Far too often in today’s divisive political climate we see politicians making excuses after they have knowingly done wrong. It’s disappointing to see that the other side has stooped to this level. Stealing our signs won’t stop us. Lawn signs don’t vote, people do, and I will continue working hard and honestly to earn their vote on Tuesday, November 6th.”
