Putnam Valley man arrested for assault following DWI crash in Cortlandt

Cortlandt, New York – On October 26, 2018, the New York State Police from the Cortlandt barracks arrested Kevin Singleton, age 32, of Putnam Valley, for Vehicular Assault in the 2nd degree, a class E felony, Reckless Endangerment in the 2nd degree, three counts of Assault in the 3rd degree, all class A misdemeanors, and Aggravated Driving While Intoxicated, an unclassified misdemeanor.

On October 26, 2018, Troopers were dispatched to Croton Avenue, in the town of Cortlandt at approximately 7:05 p.m., for a two-car motor vehicle collision with injuries.  Investigation determined Singleton was traveling south on Croton Avenue, and entered the northbound lane with his 2013 Ford F150.  Singleton struck a northbound 2017 Honda Civic occupied by three people causing injuries to each, one victim suffered serious injuries.

Singleton was found to be under the influence of alcoholic beverages, and further investigation determined his blood alcohol content was three times the legal limit.

Singleton was issued an appearance ticket returnable to the town of Cortlandt Court on November 1, 2018, at 9:00 a.m.
