LaGrange man drove 90 miles per hour, in a 55 mile per hour zone charged with resisting arrested and driving while ability impaired by alcohol

LaGrange, New York – On February 1, 2015, New York State Police from the Stormville barracks arrested Mario J. Cacace, 38 years old, of LaGrange, New York, for Resisting Arrest, a Class A Misdemeanor, Driving While Ability Impaired by Alcohol, and Unlawful Possession of Marihuana.

Troopers patrolling State Route 82 observed a 2007 Nissan 350 Z traveling northbound at approximately 90 miles per hour, in a 55 mile per hour zone. The Nissan was observed attempting to negotiate a right hand turn before Troopers lost sight of it. When police approached the turn, they observed the vehicle off of the roadway in the snow. When the vehicle was found to be unoccupied, Troopers began to pursue the driver on foot. The driver of the Nissan, Cacace, was located and taken into custody. Cacace was charged with resisting arrested following a brief physical struggle with police where he resisted being taken into custody.

Cacace provided a breath sample that revealed a Blood Alcohol Content of .06% and was found to be in possession of marihuana. He was issued traffic tickets and appearance tickets ordering him to appear before the Town of LaGrange Court on February 10, 2015 at 5:00 p.m.
