Hosts 23rd Annual ‘Senior Prom’

Poughkeepsie … The Dutchess County Office for the Aging (OFA) welcomed more than 400 local senior citizens to its 23rd annual “Dutchess County Senior Prom” on Monday, October 15th, at the Villa Borghese in the Town of Wappinger.

The prom featured a “Big Game” theme – attendees were encouraged to dress up in their favorite team’s colors – and live music from the Bob Martinson Band, lunch, dancing, as well as prizes and cakes donated by local businesses. OFA Director Todd Tancredi crowned Joe and Pat Broun, of Fishkill, as the Duchess and Duke of the Prom, respectively.

Fishkill’s Joe and Pat Broun were crowned the Duke and Duchess of the Dutchess County Office for the Aging’s 2018 Senior Prom.

The Pines at Poughkeepsie was the co-host for the 21st consecutive year. The major sponsors for this year’s prom were Wingate Healthcare, EverCare At Home, Northwestern Mutual, and PAZ Healthcare/The Avalon. Photos and video from the event are available on Dutchess County Government’s Facebook and Twitter pages.

The Office for the Aging will reveal the theme of the 2019 Senior Prom in the winter edition of its newsletter “Spotlight on Seniors,” which will be published in November. Residents can sign up to receive “Spotlight on Seniors” by emailing bjones@dutchessny.gov.
