Obituary, Denis Odell

Denis Odell, 57, a lifetime resident of Poughquag, went home to the Lord on October 9, 2018, after a long illness.  He gave a good fight, but now he’s pain-free and in peace.

Born on December 8, 1960, he was the son of Raymond and the late Claire Marie (Kelly) Odell.  He attended St. Columba School, graduated from Arlington High School.

Denis loved to hunt, fish, golf, and spend time with his loving family.  He was an avid Yankee fan, and had a laugh and smile that lit a room.

Denis is survived by his father, Raymond, of Poughquag; son, Denis P. Odell Jr. and his wife Claire of New Smyrna Beach, FL; brothers, Raymond and his wife Hollie of Beekman, Michael and his wife Brenda of Clinton Corners, Stephen and his wife Lynn of Red Hook, and Sean and his wife Ivy of Dover Plains; sisters, Honora Knox and her husband Bill of Myrtle Beach, SC, and Tara Maucieri and her husband John of Pleasant Valley; his three grandchildren, Haillee, Payden, and Spencer, who were his pride and joy; many nieces and nephews, especially his nephew Ryan with whom he had a special bond.  In addition to his mother, Claire, he is also predeceased by his daughter, Lila Claire.

Friends may call at the Horn & Thomes, Inc. Funeral Home, 83 E. Main St., Pawling on Saturday, October 13th from 2-4pm followed by a funeral service at the funeral home at 4pm.
