Obituary, Roger Lougheed

Pine Plains – Roger S. Lougheed, 78 of Pine Plains, NY passed away on Sunday, October 7, 2018, at Sharon Hospital in Sharon, CT.

He was born on February 20, 1940, in Patterson, NY a son of the late Starr W. and Sara E. (Finney) Lougheed.

Mr. Lougheed proudly served his country with the United States Navy from 1958 – 1960 in Newfoundland.

A well known and respected union butcher and meat cutter, Roger had been employed by many local groceries and most recently by the Round Tuit Restaurant.

In 1962 at Carmel, NY he married Eleanor Forste who survives him.

Besides his parents, he was predeceased by a sister, Sarah “Sally” Culver and two brothers, Kenneth Lougheed and Starr Lougheed Jr.

Survivors include his children, Kyle Lougheed and his wife Tammy of Ancram, NY; Mary Fitzpatrick and husband George of Pine Plains, Michael Lougheed and wife Karmen of Litchfield, CT and Roger Lougheed of Florida. He also leaves eight grandchildren, twelve great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Friends are invited and may call on Thursday, October 11, 2018, from 11- 12 at the  Funeral Home, S. Main St. Pine Plains, NY. A Service of Remembrance will be offered at 12 Noon with Vicar Jackie Jefferson of St. John’s Lutheran Church in Ancram officiating.

Interment with military honors will follow in Evergreen Cemetery, Pine Plains, NY.
