Poughkeepsie – Frederick F. Bierce, 85, of the town of Poughkeepsie, passed away Monday, October 1, 2018 at Vassar Bros. Medical Center.
He was born in Pawling August 4, 1933. On Nov. 27, 1987, he was married to Janet L. Pikovsky, who survives at home. Mr. Bierce was a former resident of Wappingers Falls for many years, and was employed at N.Y. Trap Rock (Tilcon) until he retired in 1997, He was a member of Operating Engineers #825, and Laborers International of N. America #60. Fred was a Dallas Cowboy fan, and enjoyed horseracing with his best friends Doug Heady and Louie Diehl.
Survivors include his wife, Children, Larry Priore, Scott Bierce, Peggy Sasso, Stepchildren, Kenneth Daum, Sheila Carollo, Joel Daum, and many grandchildren.
Friends may call at the Delehanty Funeral Home 64 E. Main St., Wappingers Falls, Wednesday from 4 to 8 PM. Entombment will be at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
