Wappinger, New York – On March 30, 2015, New York State Police Bureau of Criminal Investigation from the Wappinger barracks arrested 27-year-old, Jason P. Berkowitz of Hyde Park, New York, for Assault 2nd Degree, a Class D Felony.
On March 11, 2015, Troopers were dispatched by Dutchess County 911 to a Town of Wappinger business for a reported disturbance. Following a detailed investigation, it was learned that Berkowitz had assaulted another male patron in the parking lot of the business and fled the scene prior to police arrival.
The victim, a 26-year-old East Fishkill man, was subsequently transported to Mid-Hudson Regional Hospital where he was treated for facial injuries.
Berkowitz was arraigned before the Town of Wappinger Justice Court and was released on his own recognizance. Berkowitz is set to return to the Town of Wappinger Court on April 22, 2015 at 5:30 p.m.
