Obituary, Robert Boyles, Sr.

Wassaic – boyles, 77, a longtime resident of Wassaic, NY died on Monday, February 2, 2015 at his home in Wassaic, NY. Mr. Boyles was a machine operator at Tri-Wall Container for 36 years retiring in 1992.

Born on February 18, 1937 in Ancramdale, NY he was the son of the late Charles and Abbie (Brizzie) Boyles. On December 17, 1955 he married Beverly J. Killmer who survives at home. Mr. Boyles was an avid ice fisherman, card player and NY Giants Fan. He was also an avid baseball fan and played for the Amenia Monarchs. Family and friends shared a lot of good times and memories were made at Big Bob’s Garage.

In addition to his wife, Mr. Boyles is survived by two sons, Gary R. Boyles of Dover Plains, NY and Robert Boyles, Jr. of Wassaic, NY; two daughters, Margaret Ackerman of Wassaic, NY and Judith M. Curtis of Amenia, NY; two brothers, Clifford and Harold Boyles of Ancramdale, NY and a sister, Irene Dietter of Ancramdale, NY. He is also survived by three grandchildren, Chad and Jessica Ackerman and Russell Boyles and three great grandchildren, Faith, Grace and Landon Ackerman.

Besides his parents, Mr. Boyles was predeceased by four brothers, Russell, Bill, Henry and Charles Boyles, Jr. and three sisters, Eleanor Cookingham, Susan Dietter and Gladys Millius.

Calling hours will be held from 3 to 5 p.m. on Saturday, February 7, 2015 at the Hufcut Funeral Home, 3159 Route 22, Dover Plains, NY.
