PUTNAM SHERIFF’S DEPARTMENT REPORTS MULTIPLE ARRESTS

FOR DWI DURING THE MONTH OF AUGUST

Putnam County Sheriff Robert L. Langley Jr. reports multiple arrests for Driving While Intoxicated, made by Putnam County Sheriff Deputies, during the month of August. On August 11, 2018, at approximately 3:32 am, Deputy Brian Neary observed a vehicle commit a traffic violation on Bryant Pond Road, in the Town of Putnam Valley. Deputy Neary initiated a traffic stop of said vehicle. Subsequent investigation revealed that the vehicle’s driver, Eddie J. Miranda, age 47, of Mahopac, was allegedly intoxicated. Deputy Neary arrested Mr. Miranda. Mr. Miranda was transported to the Putnam County Correctional Facility for arrest processing. Mr. Miranda was charged with Driving While Intoxicated and Driving While Having a BAC of .08% or Higher. Mr. Miranda was issued an appearance ticket returnable to the Town of Putnam Valley Justice Court. Mr. Miranda was released on his own recognizance. Mr. Miranda is scheduled to appear for a future court date, in the Town of Putnam Valley Justice Court.

On August 18, 2018 at approximately 10:44pm, Deputy Ronald Yeager was dispatched to Peekskill Hollow Road, in the Town of Putnam Valley, for a report of a One-Car Motor Vehicle Accident. Upon arrival, Deputy Yeager made contact with the driver, Trever L. Willard, age 49, of Carmel. Subsequent investigation revealed that Mr. Willard was allegedly intoxicated. Mr. Willard was placed under arrest for allegedly Driving While Intoxicated. Mr. Willard was transported to the Putnam County Correctional Facility for arrest processing. Mr. Willard was charged with Driving While Intoxicated, and Driving While Having a BAC of .08% or Higher. Mr. Willard was issued an appearance ticket for the Town of Putnam Valley Justice Court. Mr. Willard was released on his own recognizance. Mr. Willard is scheduled to appear for a future court date, in the Town of Putnam Valley Justice Court.

On August 19, 2018, at approximately 2:25 am, Deputy Shane Rossiter observed a vehicle commit a traffic violation on State Route 22, in the Town of Southeast. Deputy Rossiter initiated a traffic stop of the vehicle. Subsequent investigation revealed that the vehicle’s driver, Ronald R. Rodas-Loor, age 22, of Danbury, Connecticut, was allegedly intoxicated. Mr. Rodas-Loor was placed under arrest. Mr. Rodas-Loor was transported to the Putnam County Correctional Facility for arrest processing. Mr. Rodas-Loor was charged with Driving While Intoxicated and Driving While Having a BAC of .08% or Higher Cyndi S. Chabla, a passenger in the vehicle, was charged with Obstruction of Governmental Administration in the Second Degree (Class A Misdemeanor), Assault in the Third Degree (Class A Misdemeanor), and Resisting Arrest (Class A Misdemeanor) when she refused to comply with the Deputy’s instructions and then struck a Sergeant who was assisting the Deputy. Mr. Rodas and Ms. Chabla, age 22, who are both from Danbury, Connecticut, were arraigned at the Town of Patterson Justice Court, on behalf of the Town of Southeast Justice Court. Mr. Rodas was released on his own recognizance. Ms. Chabla was remanded to the Putnam County Correctional Facility on $1,500.00 cash bail/ $3,000.00 bail-bond. Ms. Rodas posted bail and was released from the Correctional Facility. Both Mr. Rodas and Ms.Chabla are scheduled to appear for a future court date, in the Town of Southeast Justice Court.

On August 30, 2018, at approximately 3:50 am, Deputy Kevin Osika, observed a vehicle commit traffic violations in the area of Secor Road and Bryant Pond Road, in the Town of Putnam Valley. Deputy Osika initiated a traffic stop of the vehicle. Subsequent investigation revealed that the vehicle’s driver, Jason M. Rohrig, age 32, of Putnam Valley, was allegedly intoxicated. In addition, it was determined that Mr. Rohrig was in possession of a small quantity of alleged Cocaine. Mr. Rohrig was arrested and transported to the Putnam County Correctional Facility for arrest processing. Mr. Rohrig was charged with Driving While Intoxicated, Driving While Having a BAC of .08% or Higher, and Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the Seventh Degree (Class A Misdemeanor). Mr. Rohrig was issued an appearance ticket and released on his own recognizance. Mr. Rohrig is scheduled to appear in the Town of Putnam Valley Justice Court, at later date and time.

In addition to the DWI arrests recorded by the Sheriff’s Department, a Sheriff’s Deputy arrested a driver for operating a vehicle without a mandatory interlock device. On August 18, 2018, at approximately 9:40 pm, Deputy Sheriff Ronald Yeager observed a vehicle commit a traffic violation on Bryant Pond Road, in the Town of Putnam Valley. Deputy Yeager initiated a traffic stop on said vehicle. During the traffic stop, Deputy Yeager received information from the NY State Department of Motor Vehicle Database which stated that the vehicle’s driver, Jaime G. Langan, age 40, of Mahopac, had a restricted New York State driver’s license, which required her to operate a vehicle with an Interlock Device. Deputy Yeager observed that the vehicle being operated by Ms. Langan was not equipped with an Interlock Device. Ms. Lagan was arrested and issued an appearance ticket returnable to the Town of Putnam Valley Justice Court.
