Bruce Katz Band To Play At Pawling’s “Music By The Lake” On August 11

Bruce Katz Band To Play At Pawling’s “Music By The Lake” On August 11

On Saturday, August 11, Pawling’s “Music By The Lake” will present a free concert featuring the “Bruce Katz Band”.

This trio is led by award-winning composer/performer Bruce Katz on organ and piano. An inductee of the New York Blues Hall Of Fame and a four-time nominee for the W.C. Handy Award, Bruce has released 8 albums, toured and recorded with Ronnie Earl and the Broadcasters, toured with the Greg Allman Band, and completed several tours with the Allman Brothers band. Although blues is a core influence, Katz’s music occupies a unique space where blues, “soul-jazz”, jam-band rock and all aspects of Americana Music collide into a style of original music all his own.

The trio also features gifted guitarist and New York Blues Hall Of Fame inductee Chris Vitarello. A Berklee College of Music graduate, Chris has toured with numerous bands during the past 20 years, has appeared on more than 30 albums, performs nationally and internationally, and is well known throughout the Hudson Valley.

Rounding out the trio is drummer Ray Hangen. With a professional career starting at the early age of seventeen, Ray defines the term “deep in the pocket.” Whether playing blues, country, funk, jazz, rock, R&B, or zydeco, Hangen hits a hard and hot beat as steady as it grooves.

“Music By The Lake” concerts are held on Saturdays at 6:00pm at the Pavilion at Lakeside Park. In case of rain, the concerts will be held in the adjoining Lathrop building at Lakeside Park. As always, all concerts are FREE!

So bring your picnic baskets, coolers, blankets and folding chairs, and join us on August 11 at 6pm and enjoy a virtuoso performance by the very talented “Bruce Katz Band”.
