“Rhyme & Reason”—Paintings by Jeanette Fintz, August 4-28 at Casana Designs Space in Hillsdale, NY
Hillsdale, NY– The small works on paper and wood by Jeanette Fintz explore geometric shapes and how we perceive them. These lively paintings employ color, geometry and rhythmic organization. The subtleties of spatial interactions, conflict, closeness and entanglement engage the viewer in this optical dance of lines and marks.
She is a former Assistant Professor of Painting & Drawing at SUNY Purchase, and former Assistant Professor of Drawing, Design & Digital Design at Parsons the New School for Design, from which she received two sabbatical travel grants to Spain and Turkey to research patterning systems. Ms Fintz was founding faculty at Cenfad, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia(1996-97), a Parsons affiliate school.
