Brooklyn, NY man arrested for possession of (KHAT) after his vehicle became disabled.

 Alaaaden R. Gazali 

Newburgh, NY – On June 15, 2018, at approximately 1:49 a.m., State Police stopped to assist a disabled vehicle parked on the shoulder of I-87, in the town of Newburgh with an unknown mechanical issue. During the interview of the driver, Alaaaden R. Gazali, age 21, of Brooklyn, NY, probable cause to search the vehicle and its occupants was established. The search revealed Gazali was in possession of approximately 72 grams of (KHAT) or cathinone. He was taken into custody, transported, and processed at SP Newburgh. He was subsequently charged with:

  • Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the 2nd degree; a Class A Felony

Gazali was transported and arraigned in the town of Newburgh Court and remanded to the Orange County Jail with no bail. No return court date was available at this time.
