Cortlandt man arrested for weapon possession in Fishkill Correctional Facility

Fishkill, New York – On June 13, 2018, the New York State Police Bureau of Criminal Investigation from the Wappinger barracks arrested Alexander G. Welch-Vanzile, age 22, of Cortland, New York, for Promoting Prison Contraband in the 1^st degree, a class D felony.

An investigation revealed that on December 15, 2017, Welch-Vanzile possessed an improvised weapon, made from a sharpened piece of metal, while he was incarcerated at the Fishkill Correctional Facility.

Welch-Vanzile was arraigned at the town of Fishkill Court, and he was remanded back into the custody of the NYS Department of Corrections and Community Supervision.
