Obituary, Diane A. Stuhrcke

 

Diane A. Stuhrcke of Sherman, CT, and Marco Island, FL, passed away Monday, May 14, 2018, at her daughter’s home in Roxbury, CT, with her family at her side. She was 82.

She was born August 18, 1935, in Brooklyn, NY, daughter of the late William and Emma (Horn) Liebscher. She was a graduate of Forest Hills High School in Queens, NY. On March 1, 1958 she married Otto C. Stuhrcke. Mrs. Stuhrcke was a secretary for Novella Construction in Danbury, CT for 35 years. After retiring, she moved to Marco Island in FL where she was a member of the Moose Lodge.  Diane was a happy, fun loving person that was a delight to be around.  She had a great attitude and good wit.  It is no surprise she made so many friends in Florida and enjoyed going out to eat and chatting with them.  She always loved to hear a good story or tell one of her own.  She cherished her family and loved to spend time with them.  Despite her pain, she was always up for a day out.

Mrs. Stuhrcke was predeceased by her husband Otto Dec. 14, 2004. She is survived by her son Robert Stuhrcke of Sherman, CT, daughter; Janet Hiser of Roxbury, CT, sister; Lida Frey of Southbury, CT, grandson; Conor and niece Lynn Coady.

A funeral service will be held on Friday, May 18, 2018, at 10:30 am at Prince of Peace Lutheran Church in Brookfield, CT, followed by the interment in Prince of Peace Cemetery in Brookfield. Calling hours will be held on Thursday, May 17, 2018, from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm at 58 Bridge Street, New Milford, CT.
