Cold Case Tuesday: State Police continue to investigate a 10-year-old homicide in Greene County

New York State Police Troop F Major Crimes Unit in Middletown, NY continues to investigate the murder of Linda Holgerson on November 4, 2007.

On November 4, 2007, State Police Catskill was contacted by Greene County 911 of a possible unattended death at 13401 State Route 21A in the town of Prattsville. Troopers observed a deceased female, later identified as Linda Holgerson, over an overgrown embankment, at the end of a driveway, belonging to vacant seasonal residences located on State Route 23A.

During the investigation, investigators learned the Kingston Police Department was investigating the disappearance of Holgerson. She was last seen at 4:15 pm on October 19, 2007, getting into a white or light colored minivan on Van Dusen Street, facing Broadway, near the Bank of America. She was wearing a white puffy coat with a hood. She was also in light gray or white sweatpants and dark colored sneakers.

Linda Holgerson was mentally handicapped and was not known to have any enemies. Friends said she would not have gotten into a vehicle with anyone she did not know.
