Delgado Announces Ulster County Endorsements

KINGSTON, NY — Today, Antonio Delgado announced endorsements from two prominent Ulster County Democratic officials – Tom Hoffay and Nina Dawson, both of Kingston.

Tom Hoffay is a former three-term Kingston alderman and former chairman of both the Kingston and Ulster County Democratic Committees. He also served as the Kingston City Council majority leader. He is currently a member of the Kingston Democratic Committee and serves as Kingston Fire Commissioner.

Nina Dawson is the interim commissioner of the Ulster County Human Rights Commission and interim director of the Youth Bureau. She is a former two-term Kingston alderwoman.

“The time has come to narrow the field and pick one candidate who can lead Democrats to victory against John Faso and give the people of this Congressional District the representation they want and deserve,” said Tom Hoffay.  “I believe that Antonio Delgado is that candidate.  His vision, commitment and enthusiasm, his organization and discipline have convinced me that Antonio is the right person to meet this challenge.  I believe Antonio will win this race.  I believe he will be a credit to us as our representative in Congress.  He has demonstrated the qualities that distinguish him from the rest of the field.  He is already the choice of Dutchess County Democrats. We need to rally around his candidacy now, ahead of the June primary, give our support to his efforts and help ensure strong Democratic momentum going into the general election.  I ask you to join me and support Antonio Delgado as our clear choice for the House of Representatives.”

“I support Antonio because he is putting in the hard work it takes to create an America that works for everyone,” said Nina Dawson. “I raised my son to value things like hard work, integrity, and lifting up your friends and neighbors when they’re down. Antonio shares those values. He knows that we need universal health care to support people in our community who are struggling. He knows that education is the gateway to opportunity and we need universal pre-K to make sure all kids have the chance to reach their full potential. He knows that we need to bring good jobs back to the Hudson Valley. He is the real deal, and he is showing up and listening all over our community. I could not be prouder to support his fight to bring a better future to our region.”

“I am honored to receive the endorsement of both Tom and Nina,” said Delgado. “They have both dedicated their lives to serving their community in a meaningful way, and I am grateful for their support and generous words. These endorsements are a reflection of how our campaign is working hard and showing up to hear the concerns of voters and activists all over the Hudson Valley and Catskills. We are building grassroots support in every part of this region.”
