Ellenville Woman arrested for Endangering the Welfare of a child

PRESS RELEASE

The New York State Police at Ellenville announce the arrest of Shannon N. Conklin, a 25 year old woman from Ellenville, NY for three counts of Endangering the Welfare of a Child, misdemeanors.

On March 20, 2015 the NYSP at SP Ellenville, observed three Juveniles walking down State Route 52 in the Village of Ellenville. All three Juvenile’s were walking in a snow storm, unsupervised and without any winter clothing on to protect them from the cold.

Further investigation revealed Shannon N. Conklin was supposed to be baby sitting the Juvenile’s. Conklin allowed the Juvenile’s to go out and play unsupervised and without proper attire. Juvenile’s were located walking on a State Highway, approximately 0.5 mile from the residence. The Juvenile’s were returned to the care of their parents.

Conklin was processed at SP Ellenville and arraigned in front of Town of Wawasing, Town Justice Charles Dechon, who remanded her to the Ulster County Jail in lieu of $1,000 cash or $5,000 secured bond.
