Millerton, NY – Jimmie A. Brinson, 74, passed away on Friday, March 20, 2015 at home.

He was born in Crescent City, FL on March 29, 1940 the son of late Charlie and Louise (Forman) Brinson.

Jimmie was a Heavy Equipment Operator for Dutchess County Public Works until his retirement in 2001.

On January 14, 1960 in Hopewell Junction, NY he married Emma (Hudson) Brinson. She survives him at home.

In addition to his loving wife Emma, survivors include his daughter, Ella Stevens, husband, Trini of Millerton, NY, sons Alvin Brinson, wife, Laheen of Millerton, NY, Melvin Brinson, wife Pam of Albany, NY, daughter, Robin Dennard, husband David of Poughkeepsie, NY and daughter in-law, Dawn Brinson of Millerton, NY; two brothers Clarence Brinson, wife Barbara of Orlando, FL, Archie Brinson, wife Karen of Danbury, CT; two sisters, Artie Brinson, husband Robert of Katonah, NY; and Nellie Cross, husband, John of Peekskill, NY.

He is also survived by sixteen grandchildren, eleven great grandchildren, and ten step- grandchildren.

He was predeceased by his son, James A. Brinson Jr. in 2010.

There is no calling hours.

A memorial service will be held at 2pm on Saturday, March 28, 2015 at Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses, 5603 Route 22, Millerton, NY 12546.

Burial will be at the convenience of the family.
