Traffic Stop Leads to Weapon Charge and Warrant Arrest

Wednesday April 11, 2018, Liberty Troopers arrested a Liberty man for Criminal Possession of a Weapon and a passenger on two outstanding warrants.
Liberty Troopers conducted a traffic stop on ST-17 in Thompson on Wednesday night. Upon investigation, it was discovered the operator, Eric Evans, of Liberty, had a revoked driver’s license. Evans was also in possession of brass knuckles which are illegal. The passenger, Christopher Beatty, of Loch Sheldrake had two outstanding warrants. The two men were arrested and transported to SP Liberty. Evans was charged with Aggravated Unlicensed Operation 2nd and Criminal Possession of a Weapon 4th. Beatty was charged with Bail Jumping 3rd. Both men are due to return to Town of Thompson Court at a later date.
