Two Massachusetts men arrested for drug possession following traffic stop

Southeast, New York – On April 8, 2018, the New York State Police from the Brewster barracks arrested Jacob A. Lemasurier, age 19, of Pepperell, MA, for Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the 4th degree, a class C felony, Criminal Possession in the 5thdegree, a class D felony, Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the 7th degree, Criminal Possession of Marihuana in the 4th degree, Criminal Use of Drug Paraphernalia, all class A misdemeanors, and Anthony Berube, age 25, of Fitchburg, MA, for four counts of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the 7th degree, a class A misdemeanor, and Unlawful Possession of Marihuana, a violation.

On April 8, 2018, at approximately 11:15 p.m., Troopers initiated a traffic stop on a 2012 Ford Fusion for violations of the vehicle and traffic law on Interstate 84 in the town of Southeast.  During the interview of the operator, Berube, a strong odor of marijuana was detected.  An investigation found Lemasurier was in possession of approximately 69.8 grams of marijuana, nine syringes, and one cartridge all containing concentrated cannabis oil, approximately 2.8 grams of cocaine, and approximately 4 grams of Methylenedioxymethamphetamine (MDMA).   Berube was found to be in possession of one cartridge of concentrated cannabis, approximately 4.3 grams of edible chocolate containing cannabis oil, approximately one gram of Alprazolam, approximately 0.6 grams of Xanax, and approximately 2.4 grams of marijuana.

Berube was arraigned before the town of Southeast Court and released on his own recognizance.  Lemasurier was arraigned before the town of Southeast Court and remanded to the Putnam County Jail in lieu of $500 cash bail or $1,000 bond.
