DCC to Host Fulbright Scholar
for Lecture on Social Media in China

 

March 12, 2018 – Dutchess Community College will welcome Fulbright Scholar Dr. Fanbin Zeng to campus March 21 for a lecture about social media in China. The event, which is free and open to the public, will begin at 7 p.m. in the James and Betty Hall Theatre.

Zeng will talk about the country’s social media platforms, government censorship policies and compare China’s political participation through social media to that of the U.S.

He is a professor of journalism and communication at Jinan University in Guangzhou, China. He specializes in the research of political communication and new media.
